Trojans take tough loss to Walther in Regionals
The Trojans battled with Walther Lutheran in the Regional semi-finals on Wednesday evening. The Broncos came out blazing hot from the outside shooting 5-6 from 3 pt range. The Trojans battled even with the Broncos and were leading 18-16 at the end of the first quarter. The 2nd quarter was not kind to the Trojans as Walther was able to take the lead and build it to 32-23 at the half. During the 3rd quarter the Trojans fell behind by 13 pts with just under 4:00 to play. Like they have all season, the Trojans kept battling and in the 4th quarter were able to pull within 1 point. The Trojans were not able to pull out the victory and lost 52-59 closing out their season. Rob White led the Trojans with inspired play and scored 15 pts to go with 4 assists and 3 steals. Jaaron Holmes had 9 pts 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Rob Stien had 8 pts and 7 rebounds. Reggie Greenwood had 7 pts, 3 assists, and 7 rebounds. Justin Peeples had 6 pts. Mike Pizzello had 5 pts and 2 rebounds. Mark Penczak had 3 pts and 2 assists. The Trojans finished the season as conference champions with a 8-0 record and an overall record of 19-7. I am so proud of how hard the players have worked all season. They were a joy to coach. We would like to thank all the parents and fans for the outstanding support this season. We will miss our seniors and have high hopes for our younger players as we look to the future of Timothy Christian Trojan Basketball.
