Tuesday night saw the Trojans open their season at the Lisle Thanksgiving tournament vs. Chicago Perspectives. Perspectives is led by 6-10 Kentucky recruit Anthony Davis who scored 41 pts and had 21 rebounds. The Trojans were able to play a strong team game and hold on for a 73-64 victory.
The Trojans received hot shooting from the arc from Sophomore Danny Leach as he hit on 5 of 7 from the 3 pt. line to finish the night with 24 points and 2 assists. Senior Mark Penczak and Mike Pizzello showed their experience as they finished with very balanced games. Mark had 27 pts (15-19 from the free throw line), 9 rebounds, and 2 assists. Mike played tenacious defense and had 9 pts, 10 rebounds, 7 steals, and 5 assists. Junior Chris Ridolphi (7 pts, 4 stls, and 2 assists) had a pretty good game as well. Troy Ellens (2 pts, 2 assists, 4 rebs), Nathan Boot (2 pts, 2 rebs), Matt Morrison (2 pts, 3 rebs), Nate Ziegler (2 stls, 1 reb) and Matt Robinson (2 stls) saw action in the victory.
The entire team had great energy all night and wanted to thank the fans for coming out to see them play. The Trojans next game is Friday night at Lisle High School beginning at 5:45 with a rematch from last year's sectional finals vs. Providence St. Mel.
