On Friday night the boys traveled to Melrose Park to play the Broncos of Walther Christian. The Boys started fast and were too much for the Broncos; the boys led 44-22 at half and increased that lead in the 2nd half to a final score of 73-41. The Trojans got a lot of nice performances
B. Orange (20p/ 13r /7-10 fgm) J. Strube (19p/ 9r / 3a/ 4-6 3ptfgm) J. Davidson (14p/ 2r/ 1a) M. Thomas (5p/ 2r/ 3a) J. Allen (3p/ 3r/ 4a) N. Tameling (4p/ 6r); the boys put on a passing display as they had 17 assists on 25 made baskets.
On Saturday the boys hosted conference opponent Elmwood Park. Again the boys got control of the game early and never looked back; up 13 at half 38-25 they continued to apply the pressure for a 66-47 victory. The boys again had a lot of great performances as all 12 players saw playing time.
B. Orange (19p/ 10r/ 3b/ 9-12 fgm) J. Strube (18p/ 4r/ 4 3ptfgm) J. Davidson (14p/ 3r/ 3a) Ty. Merrick (4p/ 5r/ 5a) M. Thomas (5p/ 2r/ 2a) J. Allen (2p/ 4r/ 2a). The Trojans shot 50% from the field (28-56) and again displayed their unselfishness by dishing out 20 assists on 28 made baskets. The win improved the boy’s overall record to 6-1 and 2-1 in conference play.
The boys are going to prepare and score well on their finals and then travel to Ridgewood on Friday to take on a tough Rebel team… We hope the RED ZONE can travel to cheer us on.
