Friday night in Lansing the Trojans played Illiana Christian. The gym was rocking as usual when these two teams meet. The Trojans would like to thank all the fans from the Red Zone who came to show their support. The Vikings came out sizzling in the first quarter and led by as many as 13 points. The Trojans were able to weather that storm and chip away at the lead to close the quarter behind by a score of 14-20. The second quarter went the Trojans way as they were able tighten up the defense and get their transition game going. At the half the score was Timothy 31 and Illiana 26. The 3rd quarter was back and forth with the Trojans extending their lead a bit to 47-39. The 4th quarter saw both teams battle back and forth. Each team put in 27 points in the quarter. Illiana would score and the Trojans would answer primarily from the foul line. In the fourth quarter the Trojans would shoot 14-18 from the line to finish the game with the final score of 74-68.
The Trojans had very balanced stats on the night. Reggie Greenwood (21 pts, 4 assists, 4 rebs, 2 stls and one block), Justin Peeples (17 pts, 4 assists, 3 rebs, 2 stls), Rob Stein (16 pts, 7 rebs, 2 stls), Mark Penczak (14 pts, 3 rebs, 3 assists), Mike Pizzello (4 pts, 4 rebs, 7 assists, 2 stls), Donte Williams (2 pts, 2 rebs), Chad Vos (2 rebs, 2 assists), Matt Morrison (1 reb), all cracked the scoresheet. Stellar defense from Mike Pizzello, Chad Vos and the entire team led the way as well as solid free throw shooting on the evening. The Trojans move to 14-5 on the season and 3-3 in conference play. The next game is scheduled for Friday evening at Timothy at 7:00 pm vs. #19 ranked Riverside Brookfield. Please keep coming out and supporting the Trojans.

Great game against Illiana Christian on Friday night. Good ball movement and distribution. Key free throws down the stretch.
A pleasure to finally meet you coach.
