Season ends in Regional semi-finals

Wednesday night saw the end of the Trojans season as they fell to Walther Lutheran 64-60. Although last month the Trojans lost to Walther by 20, this game was much closer. At the half the teams were tied 26-26. During the second half, the Broncos were able to expand their league to 11 points on two different occasions. Both times, the Trojans would not go away and kept grinding to make it a game until the final buzzer. Actually, the Trojans cut the lead to 3 with 17 seconds to play. Walther hit their free throws down the stretch to get the victory.

Danny Leach (21 pts, 3 rebs, 1 assist), Matt Robinson (13 pts, 6 rebs, 3 assists, 2 stls), Chris Ridolphi (9 pts, 10 rebs, 3 assists, 1 stl), Connor VanderBrug (8 pts, 5 rebs, 1 stl), Matt Morrison (3 pts, 4 rebs, 2 assists), Tyler VanderBrug (5 pts, 3 rebs, 2 assists, 1 stl), and Luke Davidson (3 rebs, 1 assist)all cracked the stat sheet.

It was disappointing to drop the contest but the coaches were proud of the guys for battling until the end.

On a better note -- congratulations to Matt Robinson and Tyler VanderBrug who advanced in the 3 pt shooting contest. They both will shoot on Friday night at Westmont around 6:40 with a chance to advance to sectionals.

The Trojans finish at 15-14 and 6-6 on the season. Thank you to all parents and fans for all of your support.

The Coaching staff would also like to thank the outgoing seniors for their contributions to the basketball program. Brennen Lindsey, Drew Miller, Matthew Morrison, Chris Ridolphi, Matt Robinson, Aaron Snoeyink, and Tyler VanderBrug, you will surely be missed.
