Trojans capture two conference games.

The Trojans continued conference play on Friday night vs the crusaders from Guerin Prep.  It was nice to be playing a home game and the Trojans played some pretty good defense through 3 quarters building a lead of 37-15. The final score on the night gave Timothy Christian a 44-31 victory. 

The last game a hard hat was awarded to Trayvon Williams for his hard work during the Walther Christian game. On this night, A solid all around game for Joey Davidson (17 pts, 3 reb, 1 assist) earned him the hard hat.  Ben Lodewyk (7 pts, 6 assists, 6 Rebs, 2 stls) had a very strong all around game as well being despite shadowed most of the evening by defenders.  Josh Caver grabbed 6 boards to go with 4 pts, 2 assists and 2 blocks.  Mitch Evenhouse handed out 6 assists and had 3 rebounds on the night. Jared Rhiner (5 Rebs, 5 pts) and Trayvon Williams (6 pts, 3 Rebs, 1 assist, 1 steal) also had good nights.  This was a good all around effort by the team.

On Saturday the Tigers from Elmwood Park came to Elmhurst to play the Trojans.  On this evening, the game was a string of runs by both teams. Ben Lodewyk (21 pts, 2 Rebs) came out on fire hitting 3 - 3 pt shots). The Trojans would build a 4 point lead at the half.  Ben Lodewyk would pick up his 4 th foul early in the 3rd and head to the bench. Elmwood Park would capitalize and build their lead to 6 points midway through the 3rd quarter.  The Trojans would respond to the challenge and the score was tied 33-33 going into the final quarter.

During the fourth quarter, the Trojans would continue to play good defense and Joey Davidson scored 9 of his 22 pts. The Trojans also made their free throws to secure the 55-45 victory.  Jonny Strube came off the bench to contribute a solid 2nd half with 5 pts, 5 Rebs, and 2 assists.  Mitch Evenhouse (4 assists, 4 Rebs, 3 pts), Josh Caver (3 rebs, 3 stls, 1 assist, 1 pt), Trayvon Williams (3 pts, 2 assists, 3  Rebs, 1 stl), and Jared Rhiner ( 2 Rebs, 1 assist) all cracked the stat sheet this night.  The hard hat was handed off to Ben Lodewyk for this evening.  

The Trojans will play a JV game on Monday at Elmwood Park at 5:45.  The Trojans are off this week for exams.  The next game is on December 26 at York High School at the Jack Tosh Tournament.  They will play a very strong Naperville North team at 7:30 pm.  Please come out and support the Trojans!
