Trojans split final two games at York Christmas tournament

The Trojans finished their tournament at York.  On Tuesday they played Thornton Fractional South and lost 61-40.  Joey Davidson (15 pts, 3 rebs) and Ben Lodewyk (10 pts) were in double figures in scoring for the Trojans.  The Trojans came out and played a decent first quarter.  During the 2nd  quarter the taller TF South players were able to control the boards and were leading 38-22.  The Trojans would battle in the 2nd half but come up short for the game.

Wednesday saw the Trojans play the final game at the York Tosh Tournament vs Lane Tech.  The Trojans would come out with very good energy on this day and although shots wouldn't fall early they were able to hold a lead at the half 21-13.  The Trojans would play most of this game without Ben Lodewyk who sustained a ankle sprain in the early going.  The 3rd quarter saw the Trojans extend their lead to 33-21.  Lane Tech would make a strong run in the 4th quarter and the score was tied 37-37 when Joey Davidson (18 pts 10 rebs) would put in a crucial basket to gain the lead.  Jonny Strube (10 pts 9 rebs) would clinch the victory with 2 free throws for a final score of 41-37.

The Trojans will be not have any games for a while because of the RENEW term at school.  The next game is scheduled for Jan. 15 at Ridgewood.

The entire Trojan players and coaching staff wish you a Happy New Year!
