The Trojans continued their good start of the season with a victory over Evergreen Park on Friday by a score of 64-54. The game was a close battle in the first quarter with Evergreen Park opening a lead. The Trojans fought back to take the lead 20-17 at the end of the first quarter. The 2nd quarter was sparked by some inspired play off the bench by Trayvon Williams (10 pts, 3 assists) and Mike Thomas (8 pts, 3 assists) to take a 41-28 lead at the half. The 3rd quarter saw the Trojans play some stingy defense and extend their lead to 53-33 at the end of the 3rd quarter. During the 4th quarter the Mustangs came roaring back but the Trojans were able to hold on for a 64-54 final victory.
The Trojans were once again led by Joey Davidson (14 pts, 8 rebs,) and Brandon Orange (16 pts, 13 rebs, 2 assists, 4 blocks). Once again the Trojans showed great depth as Jimmy Allen (4 pts, 5 rebs, 3 assists), Jonny Strube (7 pts, 7 rebs, 2 blocks, 1 assist), Ty Merrick (5 pts, 5 assists, 4 rebs), Nick Huisman (2 rebs), all contributed on the stat sheet on the evening.
The Trojans will play Lisle tonight at 7:30 pm for the Lisle Thanksgiving Championship. Please come out and support the Trojans!
