The Trojans traveled to Riverside Brookfield to play the defending league champions. On this night, the Trojans were a strong match for the Bulldogs from R.B. The Bulldogs led 14-9 in the first quarter. From that point on in the first half, the Trojans tied the game at the end of one quarter 14-14. The Trojans were able to extend that lead with a very strong 2nd quarter and go into halftime with a lead of 35-25. The 2nd half saw RB pick up their defensive intensity and the Trojans also missed some opportunities and at the end of the 3rd found themselves down 43-42. During the 4th quarter RB was able to extend their lead. The Trojans battled back and came within 2 pts before RB was fouled and made their final free throws for a final 68-64 score.
The Trojans showed strong determination and shot very well once again from the field. This is the 2nd game in a row where they were able to shoot a high percentage from the field. Connor VanderBrug (25 pts, 7 rebs), Danny Leach (21 pts, 4 stls, 3 rebs, 2 assists) and George Thompson (17 pts, 6 rebs, 2 assists) all have outstanding games. Luke Davidson (4 rebs, 2 stls, 3 assists) played strong defense and had a good floor game. Jimmy Larkin (1 reb, 2 assists), Justin Funchess (1 stl), and Wes Ditchfield (3 rebs) all cracked the score sheet on the evening.
Please keep coming out and supporting the Trojans. Our next game is Friday at Elmwood Park for another conference game at 7:00 pm.
