Trojans split over the weekend

On December 14th, the Trojans went away to Elmwood Park and Saturday night were home versus Westmont Sentinels (W 65-49). It was a tale of two dramatically different games. On Friday night, Elmwood Park came out hot as they scored 21 first quarter points and were playing ahead for the rest of the game. Trailing by 10 at halftime, the Trojans closed the gap to within four points in the first minutes of the third quarter, but were unable to close the lead in an up and down second half. For the Trojans, Danny Leach scored 13 points and Connor VanderBrug was one point short of a double-double. Luke Davidson contributed 11 pts., 4 reb., and 2 assists in the lose.

Saturday night, the Westmont Sentinels visited TC and the Trojans came away with a 65-49 victory. Danny Leach knocked down two early three pointers and TC shot out to a 20-14 lead at the end of the 1st quarter. The trojans clamped down on D in the second quarter and were able to extend their lead to 14 points by the end of the first half. The Sentinels were unable to get it any closer than 10 for the rest of the game. This night was a great team victory as many different team members contributed offensively and defensively.

For the Trojans George Thompson contributed 13 pts and 6 rebounds, Wes Ditchfield 7 rebounds, and Connor VanderBrug was one rebound short of a double-double. Danny Leach was high scorer for the game as he poured in 20 points for the Trojans including a 6-6 performance from the free throw line.

The Trojans' next game is home on Tuesday the 18th at 7:30pm vs. the Illiana Christian Vikings. Thank you for supporting Trojan basketball!
