TC gets Homecoming Win

On Friday night the Fenton Bison visited as the Trojans and their alumni celebrated homecoming. TC used an effective offensive attack and the aid of the 3-pt shot to gain an 8-point lead after one quarter and then extended the lead to 16 points at halftime. An intensified defensive effort after halftime resulted in the Trojans outscoring the Bison by a score of 21-6 in the third quarter and the game ended with the Trojans capturing a 79-37 victory. For the game 10 Trojans netted at least two points with Connor VanderBrug leading the way with 37 points on 16-23 shooting and Ben Lodewyk netting 18 points on 7-9 shooting. TC shot 62% from the field and 80% from the free throw line which contributed to the convincing victory.

In aiding the TC cause Justin Rhiner handed out 5 assists and Wes Ditchfield had 4 assists and 4 rebounds. Joe Bishop had a solid floor game with 7 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Robert McGivney gave solid minutes off the bench and contributed 3 rebounds while Brett Kwaigroch and Logan Bryne handed out two assists each. Kollin Kacynski contributed a long two point shot and Joey Davidson tallied 5 points.

The win improved the Trojans record to 14-9 (8-3 conference). The Trojans have two home games to finish up the season. They play a non-conference game versus Chicago Christian on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 7:30pm and then play their last remaining conference game and celebrate Senior Night at home on Friday, Feb. 28 at 7pm. Thank you Trojans fans for coming out to celebrate homecoming and cheer on the Trojans to Victory.
