Tuesday night was senior night and the Trojans came out ready to play. The Trojans were victorious vs. Elwood Park. This years seniors are: Nathan Boot, Troy Ellens, Jon Penczak, Mark Penczak, Mike Pizzello, Chad Vos, and Nathan Ziegler. They have made a strong mark on the Timothy Christian basketball program and will be missed.
The game started with Nathan Ziegler scoring the first points on a driving layup. The rest of the first quarter saw Troy Ellens on fire as his teammates kept finding the hot shooter (3-3's in the quarter and 4 on the night). Troy scored 13 pts in the quarter as the lead grew to 20-7 by the end of the first quarter. Although Elmwood Park made a small run in the second, the Trojans still held a lead of 32-20 at the half. During the 3rd quarter the Trojans came out ready to make a run and outscored the Tigers 28-8. The teams played even in the fourth quarter to reach the final score of 75-43. The Trojans saw everyone on the team crack the score sheet on this night. The Seniors: Nathan Boot (6 pts, 3 rebs),Troy Ellens (20 pts, 5 rebs, 1 stl, 1 assist), Jon Penczak (3 rebs, 1 stl, 1 assist), Mark Penczak (15 pts, 4 rebs, 1 assist), Mike Pizzello (8 pts, 6 rebs, 6 assists, 1 stl), Chad Vos (4 pts, 3 stls, 2 rebs), Nathan Ziegler (5 pts, 5 assists). The Underclassmen: Danny Leach (5 pts, 1 reb), Brennen Lindsey (2 pts, 1 reb), Matt Morrison (2 pts, 4 rebs, 6 assists), Chris Ridolphi (2 pts, 1 reb), Matt Robinson (1 reb, 1 stl), Aaron Snoeyink (2 pts, 2 rebs), Tyler VanderBrug (4 pts, 4 rebs, 1 stl). The night was a good night as the Trojans played well and the seniors had a strong night. The Trojans move to 15-8 on the year and are currently tied for second place in the conference with a 6-4 record. The Trojans will play on Friday night at Fenton High School at 7:00 pm. They will conclude the regular season on Saturday at 4:30 at Glenbard South High School. Next week Wednesday the Trojans will begin regional play at Immaculate Conception with a game at 8:10 pm.
