The Trojans started the season with the annual Thanksgiving tournament at Lisle High School. On Tuesday, the Trojans opened up with University High School. The first game jitters were evident as both teams struggled scoring early. The game would turn into a tightly played contest as both teams exchanged scores and were tied with about 3 minutes to play. The game was close throughout and then the Trojans found themselves down by 10 pts with 4:30 seconds to play in the game. The Trojans put together a furious comeback to tie the game. The opportunities were there for the taking but the Trojans could not get the job done as Perspectives had the ball with .8 seconds under the hoop. They were able to put in a tip in off a deflection to defeat the Trojans 48-46. The shocking end to the game hurt, but we will learn from this loss and move on. The first quarter saw the Trojans get out to an early lead only to give the lead up and trail 10-9 at the end of the 1st quarter. The rest of the way would be all Trojans as they would play some stingy defense to get the victory. Hot shooting by Connor VanderBrug (20 pts, 6 rebs, 2 asssist, 2 blocks) and an outstanding floor game by Justin Rhiner (5 steals, 4 assists, 5 pts, 3 rebs) led the way.
