In the second game of the Jack Tosh Holiday Classic the Trojans found themselves matched up against McHenry as both teams had lost their tournament opener. TC came out the gate slowly but falling trailing 7-0 in the early minutes but quickly turned it around to lead the game by 13 points at the half. That lead swelled to 16 points at the end of the third quarter. The fourth quarter, however, proved to be exciting. McHenry using the aid of the 3-pointer to push tie up the score at 47-47 with only minutes remaining. After a Connor VanderBrug lay-up the Trojans cleared the Warriors miss. Forced to foul, Khali Valrie made two free throws to extend the lead to 4 points. A defensive stop, a TC missed free throw, and another defensive stop resulted in the Trojans running out the clock and claiming the 51-47 victory over the McHenry Warriors.
High Scorer and rebounder for the game was Connor VanderBrug with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Khali Valrie had 11 points and 4 assists. TC was also aided by Justin Rhiner with 7 points, Wes Ditchfield with 6 points, and Ben Lodewyk with 5 points. Joe Bishop had 6 rebounds and Robert McGivney contributed 4 rebounds and 2 assists in the win. The Trojans next game is Dec. 28 at 1:30pm vs. Minooka. In the win, TC improved its records to 7-4(3-1 conference). Thanks for your continued support for Trojans Basketball.
