Trojans split the week.

The Trojans traveled to Elgin to play a conference game vs St. Edwards.  The game was close throughout when the Trojans went on a 7-2 spurt to open some distance and were able to secure a 65-59 victory.  The Trojans received strong contributions from many.  Ty Merrick had 9 assists, 7 pts, and 4 Rebs.  Joey Davidson (15pts, 7r,) and  Brandon Orange (19 pts, 9r) were high scorers.  Jimmy Allen (6pts, 5 a), Nick Huisman (4pts, 3 r), Michael Thomas (4pts), Jonny Strube (8 pts, 6r), and Trayvon Williams (2pts,) all scored on this night as well.

On Saturday, the Trojans traveled to Fulton Illinois to play a very good Camanche high school team from Iowa. The boys played a solid 3 quarters of basketball with a 3rd quarter which may have been our best basketball of the season. We were leading by 10 heading into the 4th and struggled to withstand the furious rally and lost 69-61.  This is a game where we will learn from and get better. Scoring stats on the evening had Brandon Orange (20 p), Joey Davidson (14p), and Jonny Strube (10p) in double figures.  The Trojans move to 12-7 and 6-2 in conference.

This week is a big week with 3 games. Tuesday away at Westmont at 7:30, Friday home vs Walther at 7:30, and Saturday home vs Peoria Christian at 6:30 pm. Please come out and support the Trojans!
